EXCLUSIVE | Kiir to travel to Egypt tomorrow

South Sudan president is expected to hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi on ways of bolstering bilateral ties.

JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit will tomorrow travel to the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday morning for a two-day state visit, two sources at the presidency have just told Sudans Post this evening.

“This is to confirm that the President of the Republic, H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit will travel to the Egyptian capital Cairo tomorrow and he will discuss with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt H.E Gen. Abdelfattah al-Sisi bilateral relations,” one source told Sudans Post.

According to another residency source, the president will be accompanied by the minister of foreign affairs Mayiik Ayii Deng, Minister of Presidential Affairs Barnaba Marial Benjamin, and one of the directors of the National Security Service.

“Those who will accompany the President will include the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, minister of presidential affairs and one of the directors of the our national security [service],” the source said.

Kiir is expected to hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi on ways of bolstering bilateral ties.
