JUBA, JANUARY 23rd 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The prime suspect linked to killing of four construction workers in Warrap State of South Sudan has been arraigned in Special General Court Martial on Monday in Juba.

Private Yak Garang Yak from Tiger Division is accused of killing three Syrian nationals and a South Sudanese working for a Lebanese Construction Company.

The victims were killed while building a house of a senior government official in Akon village of Gogrial West of Warrap State on January 7.

On Monday, the private suspect appeared before the General Court Martial formed by Chief of South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) Gen. Santino Deng Wol earlier this week to try the suspect.

5-Member General Court Martial is chaired by Maj. Gen. Majok Michael Chan and deputized by Brig. Gen. Alex Makelele Nyijok.

The presiding judge, Maj. Gen. Majok Michael Chan adjourned the session after defense lawyer CAPT. Francis Loboka objected to its formation.

Loboka argued that General Court Martial should do the work that is meant for the committee.

He also urged the court to transfer the accused from the military Intelligence detention facility to military police.
