KUAJOK — Two people have died and three others injured in a tragic road accident along the Majak-Aher-Mabior-Abyei road in Twic County of Warrap State when the two motors collided.

The incident occurred on Thursday at around 7:30 PM in Turalei Payam of Twic County.

Dominic Duang Riing, deputy traffic director in Twic County, confirmed to Sudans Post on Saturday that one Sudanese national and one South Sudanese died on the spot on Tuesday when their motorbike collided with another.

“What happened on Thursday evening is that the tragic accident occurred on Majak-Aher and Mabior-Abyei road when the two motors collided head-on,” said Duang

Duang attributed the accident to poor visibility as raiders lost control and rammed into each other’s motors.

“This leaves Sudanese nationals dead in the accident, identified as Muhammad Ahmed, aged 30, and Mariak Bol Deng, aged 28, and others wounded critically are identified as Maror Kuol, 30, Majur Makuac, 34, and Achier Mabior Aguek, 28.”

He said that the injured victims were taken to hospital for treatment, while the corpses of the deceased were deposited in the mortuary.

“Three who are critically injured have been rushed to Mother Teresa Hospital and are being nursed by the local medics in the area.”

He said the traffic police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the fatal accident and urged riders to exercise caution while using the public road.

“We advise young people to abide by the traffic rules and road safety procedures, such as using contacts and good brakes and slowing down when one is using the vehicle to avoid such tragic happenings.”
