Activist hails Jonglei Government for peace initiative

Last week, Jonglei state governor Mahjoub Biel Turuk and his deputy Atong Kuol manyang toured some parts of northern Jonglei state including Uror and Akobo County to preach gospel of peace.

 BOR-A prominent South Sudanese activist and a human right defender on Wednesday hailed Jonglei State government for conducting peace rallies aimed to embrace culture of unite in the state.

Last week, Jonglei state governor Mahjoub Biel Turuk and his deputy Atong Kuol manyang toured some parts of northern Jonglei state including Uror and Akobo County to preach gospel of peace.

In a present statement released Wednesday, Bol Deng Bol, Executive Director of INTRIP South Sudan welcomed the peace rallied that aimed to enhances peace among the citizens in Jonglei state.

“The recent Peace rallies conducted in almost all the Counties by the Government of Jonglei State, Led by His Excellency the Governor are highly commendable.” said Bol.

“It is true that one is only able to see the log in another person’s eyes when he has removed the log in his own eyes. This ability makes good peacemakers.” He added.

Bol urged the citizens of Jonglei state and Greater Pibor administrative area to embrace peace for peaceful coexistence.

“Appealing to the Government of Jonglei state and GPAA Counterpart to meet Often through High-Level Dialogues in order to ascertain feasible measures in Mitigating the protracted inter-communal violence in the region.”

He expressed hope that the initiative will yield and sustained peaceful coexistence amongst Youths and the communities in Jonglei state and GPAA.

“This is necessary and urgent investment to save lives and properties and as a result, pave way for Development in various spheres of life.” he added.

He appeals to Jonglei state government to expedite resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons.

“I’m appealing to the government of Jonglei state expedite resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons so that from February, they can prepare themselves to make their own food during coming rainy season,” said Bol.
