AWEIL — The newly appointed commissioner of Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State has called for teamwork and collective efforts among government officials and residents to improve service delivery and accelerate development in the county.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony on Wednesday, newly appointed Aweil East County Commissioner Mawein Mawein Kuol emphasized that effective cooperation is essential to ensuring government services reach the people.
“All I want from you is collective effort. Although Aweil is a peaceful state and our county is also calm, many challenges remain, including inadequate public services. I urge you to work with me collectively so that we can improve and deliver services to our people together,” Kuol said.
He said teamwork is essential to achieving the desired improvements in essential services, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure development, across the county.
“If you come with the ill intention of undermining our efforts, I will not accept it. What I need are development-oriented ideas. Do not hold back or shy away from coming forward with a good idea that could help save Abiem.”
Kuol pledged to work toward rebuilding Aweil East County and preparing the county for the upcoming December 2026 general elections.
Abuor Gordon, the newly appointed state minister for labor and public service, underscored the importance of supporting women in all areas, including strengthening their entrepreneurial skills and access to economic opportunities.
Abuor pledged to support women seeking financial assistance to rebuild their livelihoods and become self-reliant.
“We have noted your concerns, particularly the challenges faced by women engaged in businesses. We will do everything within our capacity to support such women in our communities,” she said.
The newly appointed Commissioner of Aweil East County was among several officials appointed in a recent government reshuffle in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State by Governor Charles Madut Akol earlier this week.
