JUBA — Ambassador Nyajok died in India on Tuesday following a brief illness, prompting an outpouring of grief from across the diplomatic and public service community.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which organised the repatriation and reception of the remains, described the ambassador as a symbol of professionalism, humility, and devotion to national service.

“The late Ambassador was a hardworking, principled, and dedicated public servant who served his country with humility and distinction,” said Hon. Monday Semaya Kumba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the ceremony.

Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, expressed the state government’s support to the bereaved family during what he termed a period of national mourning.

India’s Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. Anil Nautiyal, also paid tribute to the late envoy, noting that his passing was not only a loss to South Sudan but to the broader international diplomatic community.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. David Joseph thanked the Government of South Sudan, the Ministry, and friends for their solidarity and compassion during this difficult time.

Ambassador Nyajok’s diplomatic career was marked by integrity and tireless service, and his death leaves a significant void in South Sudan’s foreign mission.

Preparations are underway for his burial, with the government pledging continued support to the family.

The Ministry, in its official statement, urged the public to honour Ambassador Nyajok’s memory and legacy of service to the nation.
