The inauguration of newly promoted Goi Boma was hosted at the Boma headquarters in Kolnyang Payam on Saturday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Saturday, James Ghai Makhor, commissioner of Bor County, urged the residents of Goi Boma to treat one another with respect.
“This message is going out there to you, the leaders of Kolnyang Payam: if you have any problem as the chives of Kolnyang Payam, and I still exist in this sit of commissionership, I will not accept that and make changes and get those who will the community peacefully,” said Makhor.
Makhor promised Bor County residents that they would be granted all of their legal rights.
“If there is anything that you need as the citizens of Bor County, I will be ready to give it to you, and if there are others that are not happy, I request you forgive me and continue in peace,” said Makhor.
For his part, Malak Ayuen, Bor County’s paramount chief, expressed gratitude to the county commissioner for elevating Goi to the position of Boma of Kolnyang Payam.
“It is an appreciation to the leadership of the commissioner of Bor County for making this history. It has not been easy to make this happen in many years, but you understand us to create Goi Boma,” said Malaak.
Malaak asked the Kolnyang people to embrace peace among themselves in order to promote peaceful coexistence.
“You [Goi Boma] have to continue living in harmony so that the government gives us its continued support as it has given you a new boma today,” he said.
