In a series of decrees and executive orders issued on Thursday, Governor Mujung lifted the immunity and suspended three officials accused of involvement in the alleged illegal disposal of a government plot in Hai Malakal residential area.
According to Gubernatorial Decree No. 7/2025, Angelo Daya Lodu, the Governor’s Advisor on Peace and Security, was suspended with immediate effect pending an investigation into alleged misconduct linked to government property.
In Order No. 06/2025, the Governor also suspended Mr. Taban Clement Oliver, Deputy Secretary General of the Revitalized Transitional Government of Central Equatoria State, citing similar allegations.
A third suspension, contained in Order No. 07/2025, affected Mr. Ugo Aurelius Chichim, Technical Advisor for Communication and Public Affairs in the State Ministry of Information and Communication.
The three officials are accused of participating in the questionable sale of Government Plot No. 7 in Hai Malakal, a prime residential area within Juba City.
In a related move, Governor Mujung established a State Investigation Committee under Order No. 8/2025 to probe the alleged illegal disposal of the plot.
The committee is tasked with interrogating implicated officials, verifying ownership documents, identifying procedural violations, and determining who authorized the transaction.
The Governor’s office stated that the committee will begin its work on Monday, November 10, 2025, and is expected to present its findings within seven working days.
Governor Mujung’s latest decrees signal a renewed push by his administration to enforce accountability and transparency in the management of state resources.
The alleged plot sale has stirred concern among residents and observers, many of whom see the Governor’s swift action as a strong stance against corruption in state institutions.
