The facility has treated over 512 individuals as of 9th June 2025, offering critical medical services to communities impacted by the unrest.
Addressing journalists at a press conference held in Juba on Thursday, Albino Akol Atak Mayom, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, stated the government established a medical facility in May 2025 as part of its response to the recent incident in Nassir that caused displacement.
Akol added the medical facility is providing free medical care to all citizens in the affected areas.
“From the date of establishment up to 9th June 2025, more than 512 people have received medical treatment,” Akol said.
He noted that these numbers reflect the urgency of the situation and the government’s immediate commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of its people.
“These comprehensive humanitarian operations, focused on protection, food distribution, and medical care, have already resulted in over 10,000 citizens voluntarily returning to their homes, restoring hope and stability to communities long affected by the conflict and displacement.”
He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and unity across the country.
“The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management will continue to coordinate with all stakeholders to deliver aid to every corner of the country and ensure that no South Sudanese is left behind in these national efforts.”
He added that the comprehensive humanitarian operation, focusing on protection, food distribution, and medical care, has yielded positive results, with many citizens voluntarily returning home, restoring hope and stability to communities long affected by the conflict.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management will not overlook any area in extending support to affected people in remote locations.
“The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management will continue to coordinate with all stakeholders to deliver aid to every corner of the country and ensure that no South Sudanese is left behind in these national efforts,” he said.
