KUAJOK – A police officer in Warrap State of South Sudan, St. Major Adool-Muot Wol, reportedly set his family house ablaze following a fight with his wife, a source said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Monday at Luony-Aker village in Gogrial East County.

A source close to the family told Sudans Post on Tuesday that St. Major Wol physically attacked his wife after a heated argument on Monday morning, sparking the brawl.

According to a report, Wol became enraged and torched down the family, burning everything, even food.

He said the family has not eaten for three days after Wol set fire to the house with food,

“What happened is that the officer had spent three days without food despite the little economic ventures that his work runs in the market as his wife is a local alcohol brewer in the market,” he said.

According to him, Wol is being held in police custody until they conduct their investigation.

“He has five children, and what he destroyed through fire includes 3 bags of sorghum, 3 bags of groundnuts, and utensils.”

He said due economic crisis, spouses are increasingly committing suicide and setting their homes on fire in Warrap.
