In a statement, PPC Chairperson Hon. Eng. James Akol Zakayo Dhiak informed all registered political parties that registration for the formation of coalitions had formally begun, marking the start of a process that will allow parties to organize under coalition arrangements.
“This process is instituted pursuant to and in accordance with Section 10, Subsections (1) and (2) of the Political Parties Act, 2012 (as amended in 2022), which governs the legal framework, coalition agreements, and deposit procedures for political parties seeking to form pre-election or post-election coalitions in the Republic of South Sudan,” Akol said in a notice issued on Tuesday.
He told the political parties involved in coalitions to note that the cut-off date for the registration of any coalition of political parties intending to participate in the upcoming elections is 22 October 2026 (strictly set at 60 days prior to the elections).
“All concerned parties must complete their submissions on or before this date. Registration forms are available at our offices located at Hai Malakal, Plot 18 “A,” Block AXIII, 2nd Class, Juba, Republic of South Sudan.”
According to him, the registration forms are as follows: FORM P.23 (R. 33) for the Formation of a Coalition of Political Parties, FORM P.24 (R. 34) for the Deposit of Pre-Election Coalition Agreements, and FORM P.25 (R. 35) for the Deposit of Post-Election Coalition Agreements. All concerned stakeholders are notified accordingly.
