JUBA – South Sudan is the world’s youngest country. It gained its independence in July 2011, but plunged into a bloody and bitter civil war in December 2013, barely two years following its independence from Sudan.

Throughout the last six years of war, activists and intellectuals have drawn a complete different picture of the country. South Sudan is now called the “land of wonders,” according to some activists. Sometimes activists conclude comments, on social media, websites, or whatever platform, by saying “wonders shall never end/cease in South Sudan.”
