2 killed 2 wounded as suspected Ruweng raiders attack civilians in Unity State

At least two people have been killed and two others wounded after suspected cattle rustlers from Ruweng Administrative Area’s Parieng County attacked a civilian cattle camp in Unity State’s Rubkona County, according to a senior opposition official.

BENTIU, JANUARY 7TH 2023 (SUDANS POST) – At least two people have been killed and two others wounded after suspected cattle rustlers from Ruweng Administrative Area’s Parieng County attacked a civilian cattle camp in Unity State’s Rubkona County, according to a senior opposition official.

Dhoal Koryom Lingling, former SPLM-IO Chairperson of Information and Communication Committee in Unity State told Sudans Post this morning that the attack took place on Friday afternoon at Payangay and the attackers came from the direction of Parieng County.

“There was an attack yesterday on civilians who were looking after their cattle. The attackers came from the direction of Parieng County in Ruweng Administrative Area and the casualties are that two people were killed and two others were wounded,” he said.

The senior opposition official further said that authorities in Rubkona and Bentiu were still investigating the attack.

Efforts by Sudans Post to contact Ruweng authorities in Parieng were unsuccessful as phone calls were un attended to.
