NYALA – A violent confrontation in Tullus, South Darfur State, on Tuesday resulted in three deaths and five injuries following a heated dispute between supporters of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Witnesses told Sudans Post Arabic that the argument began as a verbal disagreement between two individuals regarding their support for either the army or the RSF. The situation escalated when firearms were drawn.
“The argument started off peacefully but quickly turned violent, leading to the deaths of Adam Osman, Ahmed Abdullah, and Amin Younis,” one witness said. “Several others were injured in the exchange.”
Tensions in the area worsened when family members of the victims sought revenge, escalating the violence.
Local authorities responded by imposing a three-day curfew and closing the market, while mediators intervened to try and calm the situation.
According to sources, the mobilization of some community leaders to support the RSF has deepened divisions in the area, raising concerns of further clashes. Security forces are monitoring the situation closely.
