JUBA – Three people were killed in a cattle raid in Lakes State’s Cueibet County on Wednesday morning, state police authorities say.
The attackers were suspected to have come from neighboring Tonj County in Warrap State.
Lakes State Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makuac told Sudans Post that the incident occurred at 6:00 AM at the Adong cattle camp under Tiaptiap Payam.
The police spokesperson described the incident as an attempted cattle raid which was resisted by the cattle owners.
“It was an attempt to raid the cattle, but the cattle owners managed to protect their properties and they managed to fight back the attackers,” Makuac said.
Authorities are continuing to gather information about the incident.
