JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit is mocking the people of South Sudan and the army, the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF), for promoting several businessmen and politicians to higher ranks many of whom have never been to the army, an academic said on Saturday.

This week, Kiir promoted 20 politicians to the ranks of Lieutenant General and Major General in the army. Most of them have never been to the army.
