In a written New Year message, Arama urged South Sudanese to turn to prayer, seeking divine guidance towards a new era of tranquility.
“We pray that in this year, 2024, we will not continue to walk on the path of the wicked that leads to conflict and violence,” he declared.
The religious leader expressed a fervent wish for a spirit of non-violence to permeate the nation.
“The year 2024 should be to us a year of travelling on a new road of peace, love, integrity and political maturity for the good of our nation,” he added.
Arama further called upon all South Sudanese citizens to unite in heartfelt prayer.
“I urge all South Sudanese to wholeheartedly cry out to God in persistent prayers for God to show us a new way of how to move on together peacefully and democratically,” he said.
