JUBA – A group of unknown assailants in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state’s capital Aweil have burned to death a school teacher on Tuesday, police authorities say.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal state police spokesman Guot Guot Akol say the school teacher only identified as Deng and attached to Zion Primary School in Majak Akoon village was attacked by the assailants on his way home from school.

“Upon arrival to Yar-Achoot forest between Baac and Warawar, he was attacked by four unidentified men,” Capt. Guot is quoted by City Review as saying.

Guot said the teacher was hit in his neck before being set on fire

“We are, however, doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators. We realize there is nothing we can say to console you, but with your assistance, we will reveal the identity of the assailants,” Guot added.
