JUBA – A headmaster in Aweil South County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, is accused of assaulting an education supervisor after a disagreement over his replacement.

Abraham Mangok, the Ayai Payam education supervisor, was allegedly beaten unconscious on Wednesday by the headmaster of Ajith Primary School.

The incident reportedly occurred after Mangok, following directives from the Aweil South County education director, asked the headmaster to hand over his office to a successor.

According to sources, Mangok met the headmaster at Ayai market to facilitate the transfer. An eyewitness, identified as Joseph, said the headmaster attacked Mangok, causing injuries.

“The accused is now in custody at Malek-Alel, and Mr. Mangok is receiving medical care,” Joseph said.

The incident has raised concerns about leadership and management practices within the education sector.
