JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit has dissolved all the state governments and relieved governors of the 32 states after returning the country to ten states.
According to a decree read out on the state-ran South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) county commissioners have also been dissolved.
Kiir today agreed to an opposition demand in which the country revert back to the ten states from the controversial 32.
The long-awaited Reconstituted Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) is expected to be formed next week.
South Sudan descended into a bloody civil war in December 2013 after a party infighting within the ruling Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement (SPLM) sparking an all-out civil war.
