EDITORIAL NOTICE | A day after the publication of this report by Sudans Post, South Sudan army spokesman Major-General Lul Ruai Koang denied the alleged visit. A report based on the statement issued by the army spokesman is found HERE. Sudans Post is conducting a further investigation of the visit and will update the public soon.

JUBA — South Sudan’s Deputy Chief of Defense Forces, General Thoi Chany Raet, has arrived in opposition-controlled northern-most two of Magenis, just one day after factional fighting erupted between SPLA-IO rivals, sources informed of the visit told Sudans Post.

Last week, SPLA-IO former chief of staff General Simon Gatwech Dual issued a statement announcing that First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar has failed to advance the opposition cause and that he was assuming power as the main armed opposition group’s leader.

A day later, Machar issued a statement following a meeting of top opposition officials in Juba accusing ‘peace spoilers’ of standing behind the opposition split and then said he was still in control.

However, in an expected move yesterday, fighting erupted between forces loyal to Machar and those loyal to General Gatwech resulting in the killing of at least twenty-eight (28) soldiers from both sides.

Both sides have claimed victory in the short-lived battle.

Speaking to Sudans Post moments ago, a senior opposition official who told Sudans Post yesterday that former minister of petroleum Ezekiel Lol wanted to meet General Gatwech said General Thoi Change had come along with a huge delegation from Juba and was still in Magenis as of the time of filling this report.

“As I speak to you, General Thoi Chany is in Magenis. He told the people that he was going there with his delegation to investigate the cause of fighting, but we don’t believe that, he has another intention for the visit,” the official who requested to remain anonymous said.

“There was rumors that General Akol Koor was there, but this has turned out to be untrue. It is General Thoi Chany and a very big delegation that has gone to Magenis this afternoon,” the official said.

General Thoi’s visit is not surprise as many have several times speculated the government involvement in the ongoing opposition disagreements.

In June, an audio of General William Gatjiath Deng was leaked in which he appeared to be revealing severest behind his recent trip to Juba where he said he had met General Akol Koor who for his pet requested them to remove Machar as SPLM-IO chairman for the government to be able to remove him as First Vice President.

“South Sudan deputy army chief Gen. Thoi Chany arrives in Magenis”

Our low lives, will never ever stop of using others and as their own. There is no one called *chief Gen. Thoi Chany*. Our Nuers ke Nyantoc have been caught with their usual ‘cheap and lowly intrigues’. They would have called their cheap and foolish intrigues—- ‘thoi (thinner or taller); is called Chan to mean the boy, who followed the twins or Nyabol (a girl) who followed the twins. Aluong (a baby who came from his/her mother tummy with his/his feet first is, called Madit/Nyandit,/Adit/Mangoor/Ngoor/ Acuek; Nyabol or Bol. She is well educated woman. Her daughters are well educated like her.

One of her last born, is a lecturer and a medical doctor, in the State of Oregon, in America. She went and studied ‘medicine at the Georgia institutes of technology, Atlanta and the university of Havana’. Follow us, lowly fools.
