BREAKING: Terrific car accident in Juba wounds six traffic police officers

JUBA – Six members of South Sudan’s traffic police force have been critically wounded in the capital Juba after a terrific car accident involving a Land-cruiser and a motorbike, according to eyewitnesses.

The incident, according to one eye witness, happened this morning along Custom-Jebel road when the police vehicle was trying to dodge the motorbike.

“There is a car incident this morning. Six police officers have been badly wounded and have been taken to Juba teaching hospital. They are in a very critical conditions and this is very unfortunate,” one eyewitness told Sudans Post from Juba.

A police source confirmed separate the incident, saying the police inspector-general General Majak Akec has directed for investigation to teh cause of the incident and was also preparing to visit those who were wounded.

“This is a very terrific incident and the Inspector General of Police General Majak Akec and directed that an immediate investigation is done,” the police source speaking on condition of anonymity said.

“He is also preparing to visit the wounded,” he added.
