JUBA – The governor of South Sudan’s Unity State Joseph Nguen Manytuil Wejang has ordered the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) in Mankien of Mayom County to hunt for Gen. Stephen Buay and his forces and must bring him dead or alive.
This comes after a week of deadly fighting starting with an overnight attack in Mayom, the country headquarters, where forces of South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A) assassinated the county commissioner Maj. Gen. Chuol Gatluak Manimeh.
Speaking to thousands of SSPDF soldiers and armed civilians in Mankien on Wednesday, Manytuil said the news in Mayom for the last two days has worried many people including the leadership in Juba and there is an immediate need to clear the situation.
“Many people in Juba including our leaders are looking up to us to find an immediate solution to this issue. This part of Unity State has largely been peaceful even when the conflict was ongoing,” Manytuil wearing military fatigues said.
“So, I am ordering you that we must get the problem to book. We all know who the problem is and I want you to bring him dead or alive to the government in the shortest possible time because you will have your guns soon and the remaining will be your part in enforcing the law,” he added.
The governor further extended the condolence of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the transitional government in Juba to the people of Mayom on the death of the commissioner and said the government is in full solidarity with the people of Unity State in general and Mayom in particular.
“Your president and the entire government has send his condolences to the people of Mayom and of Unity State in general and they have promised to stand with the people of Unity state in the fight against terrorist because this is terrorism when you kill civilians in this manner,” he added.
Fueling war at movement not South Sudanese people interest, Tut Galuak manime the presidential advisor stated that he forgave the killers of his elder brother. Mr. Nguen Myintuil, you were in Khartoum with Omer al Bachier, and with Salva Kiir forgetting Naath community. Nothing with that education.
There is no any law that, the government will forgive killers unless it is written in Unity State. Unity State is a government body and the issue of rebels can’t and will not be forgiven by one person. Tut Kew Gatluak said it as a politician man but the Unity State and Juba’s government must do what they wanted to make sure the criminals are brought to book
Still nuer people that are going to finish themselves rather than avoiding losing more lives by creating apolitical solutions that may relief more others from death and destruction and the perpetrators await full investigation to identify individuals liable for murdering the commissioner to stand the court
