KHARTOUM – The Bul community in Sudan has rejected the nomination of some of its members to various state and local governments positions in the main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, saying the process was conducted under duress.

“The Bul Community in Sudan would like to category rejected the nominees purported to have been nominated by Chiefs und Confirm by SPLM-IO leadership. We would like to make it clear that our Chiefs were sidelined in the nomination process that was conducted in a military barrack. All process was made under duress and in an insecure environment full of intimidation,” the Bul community in Sudan said in a statement extended to Sudans Post on Wednesday.

“The selection was ended up with incompetent people, who are not members of SPLM-IO. Some are nominated because they are relatives of General X and Z,” it added.

“We must stopped sidelined the real cadres with opportunist. We will be more happy to trust ourselves and our cadres.

“We call upon the leadership of SPLM-IO to reverse the decision, for its not only harmful to the internal democracy within our party, but also a serious political miscalculation.”
