In a statement earlier today, Adil’s office said the governor at left Juba International Airport along with senior state government officials heading to Kajo-keji for independence celebrations and was as well seen off at the airport by senior members of his government.
“H.E Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the Governor of Central Equatoria State and his varied entourage left the State’s Capital-Juba to Kajo-Keji Town ahead of the Independence celebrations to be held in Kajo-Keji County Freedom Square-Mere,” Adil’s office said.
“Upon taking off at Juba International Airport, the top authority was seen off by other key Government officials,” the statement added.
In a statement with a video attached, the governor’s office said on Facebook that Adil has arrived in Kajo-keji where preparations have been completed for the state to celebrate 12 years of South Sudan’s independence.
South Sudan will on Sunday mark 12 years of independence without official celebrations for the eighth time in a row. The country last celebrated its independence anniversary in July 2014 and has not afforded to do so since then.
