Central Equatoria state gov’t officials sworn in

Newly-appointed government officials of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria state have been sworn into office, a week after President Salva Kiir formed the state governments.

JUBA – Newly-appointed government officials of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria state have been sworn into office, a week after President Salva Kiir formed the state governments.

“The Governor of Central Equatoria State,H.E Emmanuel Adil Anthony,has on the  03/03/2021, presided over the inaugural ceremony of the newly appointed state government Advisors,Cabinet Ministers,Members of Independent Commissions and the County Commissioners respectively,” Governor Emmanuel Adil of Central Equatoria state’s office said in a statement.

“The inauguration ceremony officiated by H.E Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony was legally administered by the president of juba high Court, Justice Duoth Kulang in the state government secretariat,” the statement added.

Speaking after the oath taking ceremony, Governor Adil congratulated President Kiir and all other signatories to the revitalized peace agreement “for reaching a heartfelt consensus on the formation of the state government structures in the Republic of South Sudan and described it as a right direction in the right time for the people of south Sudan to enjoy the dividends of peace.”

Anthony also acknowledged that the people of Central Equatoria state have patiently waited the full reconstitution of the state government structures and urged all to consolidate the revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity for sustainable peace to prevail across the state.

The governor further emphasized to the sworn in state government officials to operate as single entity in order to render the most needed services to the people of Central Equatoria state irrespective of their political affiliations, tribes and religions.

Governor Adil further appealed to the state government officials in the various sectors of the government to embrace unity of purpose as leaders of Central Equatoria state in a bit to move the state government forward in it’s developmental agendum.

He further reiterated his government’s “commitment towards security stabilization which is essential,and finding an amicable solution to the cattle persisting issues across the state as he has directed the local government officials in their various counties to expedite his previous Gubernatorial order on the evacuation of the cattle herders into their places of origin in a move to leave  the farming and cattle keeping communities to peacefully coexist.”
