JUBA – The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) has said that President Salva Kiir Mayardit should make public the outcome of his meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni during his recent trip to Uganda.
Kiir on Friday left the country and travelled to the Ugandan capital Kampala to participate in a regional summit that discussed migration and climate change.
In a statement, the Executive Director of CEPO, Edmund Yakani, said he appreciates President Kiir for attending the conference and stressed the important of discussion around climate change which he said is a real human concern.
“CEPO is appreciates that President Salva Kiir was able to attend the East and Horn of Africa Heads of states and ministers climate change conference. Climate change is real issue in our current world and CEPO is urging the minister of environment and forestry to take serious measures for resuming our environment and matters of climate change,” Yakani said.
Yakani said the “CEPO is ready to hold national climate change conference for sharing the outcomes of the East and Horn of Africa climate change and environment conference.”
He further said that the CEPO “wish that His Excellency president Salva Kiir informs the nation about their meeting for the sake of gaining the public traits and confidence on the pathway for addressing the fate of transitional period for the implementation of the peace agreement.”
