JUBA, JUNE 25, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The Chollo King said on Saturday that main armed opposition SPLM-IO leader and First Vice President Riek Machar Teny has killed innocent civilians and that is one of the reasons that he refused to meet him since coming to Juba.

Speaking during the honoring of Gen. Johnson Olony Thabo, the leader of Agwelek forces, on Saturday, King Kwongo Padiet said however that he has forgiven First Vice President Machar and that everyone in the country should forgive.

“Today, if there are people with bad hearts who do not want me, or if my heart is bad and I do not want them, from now on I can say sorry to Riek Machar,” he said.

“I refused to meet him because of those innocent people killed. But from here now, I have opened my heart for peace. We must forgive each other for peace to prevail in the country,” the King added.

It remains unclear what events the king was referring to, but last year, deadly fighting between Agwelek forces and SPLA-IO Kitgwang resulted in the displacement of  thousands of civilians in the Chollo Kingdom.

Despite claims by Olony that Machar was involved in the attack, no evidence to suggest this as the fighting was the outcome of the split between Gatwech, head of SPLM-IO Kitgwang, and Olony who became his deputy after the two attempted to remove Machar.

According to my brief analysis, the so called Chollo King, what he has now been trying is what is now called political sycophancy that would pav the way for shilluk to aliens with the Country incumbent president during upcoming general elections, and be given full protection in their areas of flashpoint, to me it is too late for him to apologize to the able or visionary leader in the people’s movement.

Let the Chollo King, knows all these events that are actually happening the Country have been all prophesising by late prophet Ngundeng Bong, at his live period, and then let us not put the blame to our leaders.
