CAIRO, EGYPT – Controversial South Sudanese Facebooker Amira Ali has reportedly been denied entry to South Sudan’s capital Juba upon arrival from the United States, according to eyewitnesses.

“Ms. Amira Ali has been prevented from entering Juba upon her arrival from the United States on Monday and instead, she diverted her flight and landed in Cairo,” the airport official said on condition of anonymity Tuesday.

Another source in Cairo told Sudans Post that the Facebooker was in Cairo and would “spend some days here and decide or see whether she will be allowed to enter South Sudan.”

It remains unclear why Ali, a staunch supporter of President Salva Kiir Mayardit would be prevented entry into the country.
