The preparatory committee of the Sudan Doctors Syndicate said in a statement on Monday that Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Ali Al-Siddiq, a pediatrician at Nyala Teaching Hospital, was killed on Sunday at his residence in the city.
The committee said the attack was carried out by an RSF officer accompanied by members of his unit.
Local sources told Sudans Post that the doctor had rented part of his home to an RSF officer, but tensions escalated after disputes over unpaid rent.
When the doctor demanded that the tenant vacate the property, the officer allegedly returned with armed men and forced entry into the house.
“They came in as a group and immediately turned violent,” one eyewitness told Sudans Post. “He was beaten inside his own home in front of his family. No one could intervene because they were armed.”
Another source familiar with the incident said the doctor was stabbed multiple times and sustained severe head injuries during the assault.
“This was not a simple altercation. It was excessive force against a civilian,” the source said.
Family members said the attackers threatened those inside the home to prevent them from speaking out.
“They warned everyone to remain silent, saying this matter should not reach authorities or the public,” a relative told Sudans Post on condition of anonymity.
Dr. Al-Siddiq was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later died from serious injuries to the head and chest, medical sources said.
A colleague at Nyala Teaching Hospital described the killing as “a tragic loss at a time when the health sector is already collapsing,” adding that “specialists like him are extremely rare in current conditions.”
The RSF has not issued any official response to the allegations.
