JUBA, JANUARY 12TH 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s prominent activist Edmund Yakani has appealed to kidnappers of former information minister of Western Equatoria State Eng. Charles Kisanga to disclose his whereabouts and warned against his torture.

Kisanga who was also graduated last August as part of the necessary unified force with a rank of brigadier general was kidnapped at Classic Hotel at Hai Mawona in Juba, according to his wife Suzanne Kisanga who said he never heard since her husband was dragged into a car by a man she identified as Jackson Gamu on Wednesday morning.

In a statement to Sudans Post, Yakani called on the kidnappers to disclose the whereabouts of the former state minister and warned against torture which he said has become the daily life of those seen as critics to some individuals in the government.

“The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) calls for the disclosure of the location where Kisanga is being kept. Safety and security of Kisanga should be taken paramount by the those who arrested him,” the activist said.

Yakani who is the executive director of the civil society watchdog further called “for police investigation into the case to avoid manipulation of facts” and renewed warnings against use of hostile propaganda to incite violence against communities.”
