In a statement seen by Sudans Post, the army headquarters said the Egyptian embassy official was driving as he was passing by Al Sayyed Abdul Rahman Street in the capital when gunmen belonging to the RSF opened fire on him.
The army statement said the killing is a “continuation of [the RSF’s] criminal record and indiscriminate killing” and that the army “sympathizes with the soul of the deceased and condole the brotherly Egyptian people.”
It said that the army “condemn in the strongest terms” what it calls targeted attacks including against diplomatic missions.

Sudan plunged into a deadly conflict last week when the RSF led by its commander Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo attacked several army and government positions in the capital Khartoum and other strategic areas in the country.
International and regional calls for end to the fighting – which has sparked the largest displacement of civilians in the capital Khartoum since independence nearly 70 years ago – but none of the parties appears to heed to those calls.
EMBASSY DENIES CLAIMS
But in a statement, the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum denied the Sudanese army claims, saying all the embassy staff were safe.
“The Egyptian ambassador in Khartoum, Hany Salah, confirms that all members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission are safe, including those working in the defense office,” said the embassy in a statement.
The ambassador added that the Egyptian mission and technical offices in Khartoum are continuing to carry out their duties despite the extremely complex circumstances in which they are operating.
