Egyptian engineers assemble machines as river dredging about to begin

JUBA, JUNE 12, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The deputy governor of South Sudan’s Unity State Tor Tungwar Kueiguong has said that Egyptian engineers are preparing the dredging machine ahead of the beginning of the Naam River dredging this week.

Tungwar who is also the head of the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) in Unity State said that the Egyptian engineers have assembled the machines and hopes that the dredging ends the flooding which has engulfed the whole state.

“Two boats have already been put on the water. The team of engineers from Egypt has been fixing those dredging machines,” he said.

“I am hoping that with dredging, this water from flooding may get its way into another part of the world or Africa as a continent,” he added.
