This comes a week after the rebel group said air raids from the Ethiopian army, coupling with Eritrean military bombardment, resulting in the killing of several civilians in the Ethiopian northern region.
In a tweet, TPLF spokesman Getachew K. Reda said Eritrean forces have been bombarding their positions in Tigray for second day in a row and that their military is building up along the Tigray border.
“Eritrean forces shelling our positions for a second day in a row after a hiatus of sorts following their attacks four days ago,” the rebel mouthpiece said in a tweet seen by Sudans Post.
“Massive buildup of infantry as well as mechanized units in multiple fronts. It turned out, it didn’t work the first time around!” he added.
