Ex-Nilepet chief dies in UAE

JUBA – South Sudan’s Managing Director of state-own Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet) Eng. Paul Adong has this afternoon passed on in the UAE city of Dubai after suffering a stomach problem.

Adong who served as the Managing Director of Nilepet until his replacement by Joseph Cleto Deng in May 2015 has reportedly been following up with doctors in the gulf country for some years.

“This is to confirm that the news of the passing on of Engineer Paul Adong is correct. He died this afternoon in the United Arab Emirates and he has been very sick for the last few months,” one Nilepet source said.

“He has been following up with doctors there and I don’t know what went wrong this time because it sometimes look like a small problem in his stomach that he thought to be ended,” he added.
