JUBA – South Sudan’s National Security Service (NSS) has arrested the country’s former caretaker governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state Kuel Aguer days after launching a pressure group that declared “we have had enough”, according to family members.
Last week, prominent activists including Aguer formed a civil society organization known as the People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA) with the aim of mobilizing the people of South Sudan possibly against the government.
“I have been informed about Kuel’s arrest this morning but we don’t know what the problem was. These things are connected with the government,’’ Awut Kuel Kuel said, according to Radio Tamazuj.
“We heard that Kuel has signed a certain document, but it is not clear what did he say about the government, so we don’t know until now,” she added.
