JUBA — South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) is reportedly recruiting in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state with a senior government official in Aweil describing the conscription as ‘normal security procedure’ by the organized forces.
Speaking to Sudans Post this morning, a senior South Sudan government official in Aweil on the ticket of the main armed opposition SPLM-IO said they have gathered information that the SSPDF has graduated around 383 soldiers recruited recently and is training 400 more.
“This is to inform you that that the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) is recruiting in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state and have evidence that at least 383 trainees have been graduated and that was on Friday,” the opposition government official said.
“There are some who are still being trained and they are being training at the same place where the first graduates were trained. They are 400 in number and we expect them to graduate in the next few weeks,” the official added.
The official said the training is being conducted at Mathiang SSPDF military barrack in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state capital Aweil and urged peace monitors to come in for investigation of the matter.
“The training is done at Mathiang military base and we are calling on the CTSAMVM to come in an investigate because the authorities in Juba are refusing the graduation of the unified forces meanwhile they are training and graduating new recruits,” he said.
When contacted by Sudans Post, a senior government official who refused to be named said he does not have information as to if a recruitment is taking place, but said “any decision for recruitment of new security forces is a normal procedure and no one should be concerned a lot.”
We know that its happened. President, Salva Kiir Maryardit, and his tribal elite have been working concealingly for favor what so called jieng State, with in South Sudan State, rather then unity. I have commented last week, for as long as Salva Kiir in power thing will mess more no peace and no longer stability in our country. President Salva, and his elite their plane to see South Sudan as a jieng State,President, Salva Kiir has refused the graduation of unified forces due to the over mentioned motives, you cannot favor for tribal elements as the illegal Armed in our country, and the same happened in 2013 with ethnic cleansed of Nuer tribes, unfortunately. The world is monitors you of what you have been endeavoring much in our country since 2005 afterr late Chairman, John Garang passed away, only merely favor jieng and will fail, don not waste your time.
Why should the SPLM/ A IO always like to be in panic whenever the saw SPLM/ A IG doing its normal activities at Country level, is it they don’t wants the group under President Kiir to do any thing or what is their problem?. The training that is taking place here in NBEGS- Aweil is not for new recruits this is a refresher training to the soldiers who are already at active service and they have been stranded down at their Military barracks all this time without attending any single rotational refresher training elsewhere. Then the leadership of Division- 3 Infantry Unit under Gen. Akuei Akuei Ajou came up with this crucial plans to trains all the soldiers under his Division-3 Infantry with the aims to engage them and also remind them to stick at their military work norms activities. There was no any recruitment that has been made by the SSPDF in NBEGS- Aweil because recruitment comes from national level and it can be conducted in all ten States plus three Administrative Areas of South Sudan, but not only one area to do it alone. I think, what was said by those thugs Opposition figures is not true they always used to be felt jealousy of SSPDF whenever they saw it doing its normal routine transfer of its army then they can started to accusing it with baseless lies that SSPDF have done this and that while they Opposition forces were recruiting now in all ten States plus three Administrative areas but no anyone have ask them to stop recruitment of strong youth both women and men into their ranks. I witnessed this with my own eyes in Pantiit join Military Training Center, Mansanna Beera in Wau and in Tonj of Warrap State all opposition elements are doing massive local recruitment of new forces every where in South Sudan. At this situation, the SSPDF has no such a plan to recruit new forces because there is no budget being allocated for that mission by the Government because it is not easy to recruit new recruits without making possible arrangement to bring in all what are needed in the training and their salaries at the same time. Of course it is not a simple task for someone to conducts such a big project without proper arrangement.
