Gen. Hemeti arrives in Juba, meets Kiir over peace implementation

The deputy chairman of Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council, General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has arrived in Juba this afternoon, according to a statement by the presidency.

JUBA – The deputy chairman of Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council, General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has arrived in Juba this afternoon, according to a statement by the presidency.

The statement said Daglo, who is better known as ‘Hemeti’, met President Salva Kiir Mayardit at the state house J1 and discuss the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

“His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic received and held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council H.E. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and his accompanying delegation,” the statement said.

The statement said Kiir and Daglo “discussed issues pertaining to the status of the ongoing implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement and the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan.”
