General Cirilo dismisses 9 generals for desertion, inconsistency

South Sudan holdout opposition group, National Salvation Front led by General Thomas Cirilo Swaka, has dismissed 9 generals from service for deserting their operation fields and carrying out counter-insurgency campaigns against the army in Uganda.

JUBA – South Sudan holdout opposition group, National Salvation Front led by General Thomas Cirilo Swaka, has dismissed 9 generals from service for deserting their operation fields and carrying out counter-insurgency campaigns against the army in Uganda.

They officers are Maj. Gen. Stephen Ladu, Maj. Gen. Peter Bidraku Alex, Maj. Gen. Kasiano YakoboThomas, Brig. James Hussein Taban, Brig. Khamis Nawangi, Brig. Thomas Bakit, Col. Charles Koro Elikana, Lt. Gen. Anthony Sallah Andrew, Maj. Juma Musa Lako.

“I Gen. Faiz Ismail Fatour, the Chief of General Staff of NAS Army, do hereby order the demotion of the following officers from their various ranks to private and dismissed them from National Salvation Front Army with effect from 2 May 2021,” Gen. Ismail said in a statement extended to Sudans Post.

Fatour said the senior officers deserted their fields of operation and went to Uganda without the knowledge of the high commands.

“They deserted their fields and went to Uganda with the purpose of plotting and collaborating with Captain Isaac Moro, the security liaison officer in Arua who is currently accommodating them in Millano   lodge in Arua which is a violation of articles on Desertion under section 58(1) of NAS Army Act 2017,” he said.

He accused the officers of betraying the army and the people of South Sudan.

“They are active and involved in mobilization of youth in refugee camps in order to increase their number and at the same to carry out demobilization within the NAS ranks and files,” he disclosed.
