JUBA – A senior opposition commander of the National Salvation Front (NAS) in Upper Nile region has declared that he is no longer loyal to General Thomas Cirilo Swaka, days after two senior members of the group resigned from NAS.
“I, Major General Sebit Kong, the Commander of the Upper Nile Sector, presents to you my resignation and announce that the sector has deviated from loyalty to your leadership after we concluded that NAS under you will not be the organization that can bring about change to our people, and after experience with your leadership, we decided that now is the time to move forward far from the National Salvation Front due to poor leadership and blurred vision,” he said in a statement extended to Sudans Post.
Yesterday, a senior opposition commander and a top diplomat declared their intention to abandon the National Salvation Front over what they said is leadership failure to achieve the holdout opposition group’s objectives.
General Lokai Iko, the NAS commander of Kapoeta Area in Eastern Equatoria state, and Lako Jada Kwajok, the group’s chairperson of international relations committee, lamented in separate statements to Sudans Post the leadership of General Cirilo which they categorized as failure.
“I am hereby, writing to you as a former member of the National Salvation Front (NAS) regarding the aforementioned item. I would like kindly to bring to your attention that, I am officially tending my resignation from being a member of the National Salvation Front (NAS) as from the date of writing this letter. The reasons or purposes of the resignation from NAS are myriad, however,” General Lokai said in a resignation letter extended to Sudans Post.
Gen. Thomas should know that his soldiers and generals are tired kif war and they are looking for peace to get good government in place than fighting.
exactly brother we are tired of war we need peace
I don’t think you will have peace with dinka government. When the government is fighting another tactics of cold war against the the Equatorians communities farmers. By using the cattles keepers to chase the indigenous people out of their lands. You need peace, you have to be like Murles tribe. Otherwise you will loss your land to SSD.
These commanders are iust reacting to tge action taken by NAS C-in-C where their representatives were locked out due to failure to comply to the opposition charter.
Good move Thomas, your Equatorians are behind you!
