JUBA — The Chairperson of South Sudan National Youth Union (SSNYU) Gola Boyoi Gola has apparently defied yesterday’s suspension by the minister of youth and sports Albino Bol Dhieu.

On Thursday, Dhieu issued a minister order suspending Gola from his position with immediate effect and formed an investigation committee to probe the youth leader over his foreign ties.

This is after Bol allegedly wrote a letter to the President of Arab Republic of Egypt Abdelfattah al Sisi requesting a meeting. He allegedly wrote a similar letter to the deputy chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Mohamed Hassan Daglo.

But Mr Boyoi denied that he authored the alleged letters and issued a clarification as requested by Minister Dhieu who issued a suspension order anyway on Thursday.

But in an apparent show of defiance, Gola said he today met in his office with his newly appointed deputy Fermana Paul Machuei who met with him in his office this afternoon.

He said it was pleasure “receiving the newly appointed Deputy Chairperson in my office this afternoon.”
