JUBA – South Sudan has administered over 95,982 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive, a health expert revealed on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters during the routine Sunday weekly briefing on COVID-19 at Emergency Operation Center (EOP) in Juba, Dr. John Rumunu, Director General for Preventive Health Services disclosed that 26,872 people have received their second doses since the beginning vaccination drive in April.
“In total, we have 95,982 vaccines administered and out of this 26.1 are females. A total of 69,110 people have received their first AstraZeneca doses and 26,872-second doses,” Dr. Rumunu said.
South Sudan has recorded 11,805 positive cases, 11,195 recoveries, and 121 deaths.
