JUBA – South Sudan’s Joint Defense Board (JDB) has asked opposition forces in training centers to distance themselves from General Simon Gatwech Dual’s Kitgwang SPLA-IO faction to avoid disturbing the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

This comes after the Joint Defense Board (JDB) dispatched three teams to all parts of the country to visit training centers where opposition forces are currently being hosted for unification with the government forces.

“This morning, the JDB Co-Chairs dispatched three different teams of members of the Security Mechanisms to the Training Centers as directed by the Presidency to inform the Unified Forces that the incident in Magenis will be handled by the Presidency as soon as possible,” Colonel Lam Paul Gabriel, one of the spokesmen of the JDB said in a statement.

“The JDB also asked the forces in the training centers to distance themselves from the confusion in Magenis and focus on the implementation of the Security arrangement so that peace is realized in our country,” he added.
