JUBA – South Sudan’s ministry of finance announced today that it will begin paying outstanding salaries for public servants, organized forces, and foreign missions starting tomorrow, December 14th, 2023.
The announcement by the ministry comes after months of delays due to budgetary constraints and the ongoing economic crisis.
The ministry will initially pay salaries for the month of August to all relevant groups at the national level, states, and administrative areas.
Diplomats in foreign missions will receive their August salaries and one month of arrears from previous months.
