The announcement by the ministry comes after months of delays due to budgetary constraints and the ongoing economic crisis.
The ministry will initially pay salaries for the month of August to all relevant groups at the national level, states, and administrative areas.
Diplomats in foreign missions will receive their August salaries and one month of arrears from previous months.
“The ministry of finance and planning is paying the salaries for the month of August to civil servants and organized forces at the national level, state governments and administrative areas, whereas the diplomats in foreign missions will receive salaries for the month of August and one month from the arears,” the ministry said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.
This payment follows the “cleansing of the payroll” undertaken as part of the Public Financial Management reforms implemented by the ministry.
This initiative aims to ensure efficient and transparent financial management within the government.
The ministry expressed its assurance that it is working diligently to address the remaining salary arrears and establish a system for timely future payments.
