JUBA — At-least one man was killed and three  women wounded in an ambush along the Juba-Yei road on Tuesday by suspected members of the National Salvation Front (NAS) led by General Thomas Cirillo, Central Equatoria state government information minister Paulino Lukude said.

“Yesterday in the morning and afternoon, two separate barbaric attacks perpetrated by the NAS forces loyal to Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka against civilian passengers went from Juba to Yei,” Lukude who is also the state government spokesman said during a press conference today.

Lukude said the incident occurred at 11:00AM in Koya Limbe boma in Lainya County.

“Two empty trucks were burnt into ashes at around 11:00AM  in an area called Koya, Limbe boma, Kenyi Payam of Lainya County by the NAS forces. On the same location, they forcefully took a motorbike at gun point from the owner,” Obede said.

“The forces randomly shot at civilians’ passengers’ vehicles which resulted in the killing of one man and injuring three women,” he added.

He said the three women are currently nursing wounds at Giyada Military Hospital in Juba.

“We are calling on CTSAMVM to investigate these heinous crimes against the vulnerable civilians and hold the perpetrators accountable,” he said.
