In a statement, the Central Equatoria state government said Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony was briefed by the Juba Mayor Michael Allah-Jabu on the plans of the government to construct the mall funded by unnamed partners.
“The leadership of Juba City Council led by H.W Mayor Michael Allah-Jabu has briefed Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony in the State Government Secretariat on the $4M grant from the development partners aimed at adopting a modern City Shopping Mall to be first constructed in Juba City,” the statement said.
“Today’s meeting comes following a delegation led by Mayor Michael to the Kenya-Nairobi purposefully to acquaint himself with the current changing trends on City standardization modalities,” the statement seen by Sudans Post reads in part.
Mayor Allah-Jabu confirmed that he was “able to establish cordial working relations between Juba and Kenyan municipalities in sharing experiences on various aspects and explore potential investment and trade opportunities especially on empowering youths on small scale business across the city.”
On his part, Governor Adil welcomed Mayor’s move “and encouraged him and his team to continue implementing the state Strategic direction pillar on keeping Juba clean, green and safe for the realization of modern city standards.”
