JUBA – South Sudan’s minister of information and government spokesman Michael Makuei Lueth has said that opposition forces that have gone to the training center without guns will be graduated, but without guns.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Michael Makuei said forces loyal to First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny are not organized and has instead asked the Joint Defense Board (JDB), a body created under the terms of the revitalized peace agreement to oversee the security arrangements, to help in organizing his forces who he said are not organized.

“The opposition forces are not organized and instead they have referred the matter to the Joint Defense board (JDB) to organize their army which is the opposite,” Makuei who is also the government spokesman said.

The senior government official further added that the opposition force won’t be graduated with guns because they have gone to the cantonment sites without their weapons saying they will be graduated with their shticks instead.

“Secondly they have entered the cantonment centers without arms, however if they were to be organized we are ready to graduate them even without guns, those who have no guns would carry their sticks,” he said.
