‘I don’t regret it’: Museveni defends derogatory ‘Blue’ people comment

“No, I don’t regret it. Who has the audacity to question my comment?”

KAMPALA – Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has defended his derogatory remarks against South Sudanese in which he categorized the people of his country’s northern neighbor as ‘Blue’ instead of being black.

“You need to look at them carefully they are not black they are blue, so how can you call blue men blacks?” Museveni said of South Sudanese on Monday during a ceremony to celebrates 35th anniversary of the NRM’s rise to power.

While responding to questions by journalists on Thursday afternoon in Kampala, Museveni said he don’t regret his comments saying no one has the authority to question him

“No, I don’t regret it. Who has the audacity to question my comment?” Museveni said according to reports before he was seen walking away to evade further questions regarding the his derogatory comments that have sparked social media outcry in Juba.
