JUBA – A senior official of South Sudan main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, has warned opposition nominees to various government positions against mocking their colleagues who haven’t been nominated to government positions.

Dut Majokdit, a senior SPLM-IO member of the National Liberation Council (NLC), warned SPLM-IO nominees to various positions against misbehaving towards colleagues who have not been nominated, saying the party can resort to code of conduct to punish those involved in the unlawful practice.

“Let your nomination not make you to misbehave against the revolutionaries who are fighting for the cause not for positions,” he said.

“Misbehaviors of opportunists should not be tolerated. We are dealing with unpredictable future. being a nominee [today] doesn’t qualify you to walk away from the code of conduct,” the senior opposition official said.

The senior opposition official argued that the SPLM-IO “have it’s own manifesto, code of conduct, internal regulations and constitution. This are four basic documents of the People’s Movement, that were passed during Pagak  Consultative Conference in 2015.”

“Please you have to respect the Current Four basics documents. The People’s struggled to wage this revolution for radical change to establish good governance & fulfill the promise of liberation struggle and not just to be accommodated in the R-TGONU.”
