KHARTOUM, AUGUST 16, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The Islamic Sudanese Movement has attacked the deputy head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Malik Agar.
This is a day after Agar gave a televised address in which he called on the Islamists to learn from their past mistakes, before describing them as “outdated goods” for the Sudanese people to buy.
In a response, the Islamic Sudanese Movement said that Agar’s message reflects a “deficient understanding” of the current situation.
The group also said that Agar’s message was “distorted” and “provocative” and that the question on the popularity of the organization is the opinion of the people and the ballot boxes, “not words uttered by deviant horizons to appease their masters.”
The Islamists organization is a major political force in Sudan. It was founded in the 1960s and has been involved in many of the country’s conflicts.
Agar’s televised address was part of a series of messages he has issued to the Sudanese people since he was appointed deputy head of the Transitional Sovereign Council in July 2023.
In his messages, the deputy chair of the Transitional Sovereign Council called for national unity and reconciliation but said that “there is no presence to two armies in one country.”
He has also criticized the Islamists for their role in Sudan’s past conflicts and called on them to “learn from pass mistakes” and referred to them as “expired goods”.
War
War or fighting is not the solution for Sudan problem,
